SIDERFER® ST belts are composed of high-carbon, heat-treated SIDERFER® ST belts are composed of high-carbon, heat-treated special steel stranded wires to provide exceptional breaking strength, repeated dynamic stresses and great flexibility. The strand wires, with diameters ranging from 0.25 to 0.7 mm, offer a strength of up to 260 Kg/mm². Next, the cables undergo a hot-dip galvanizing process that protects them from corrosion and improves theiradhesion to the rubber. The tape housing is made by evenly inserting the taut cables into a direct-attached rubber map, with an alternating ‘S’ and ‘Z’ winding , ensuring:
- Absolute cooperation of cables
- High resistance to dynamic stresses
- Optimal ride stability
- Excellent longitudinal and transverse flexibility
- High resistance to cable slippage in rubber
For significant improvement in impact resistance, the FLEXOTEC® protection system is available, which involves the insertion of synthetic fiber cables (1.5-4.0 mm in diameter) above or below the metal weave, separated by a protective rubber matrix. This system increases shear strength by up to 50 percent with reinforcement on one side and up to double that with reinforcement on both sides, providing greater durability and performance.
In addition, a metal breaker can be inserted to resist any longitudinal cuts between cable pitches, providing additional protection against mechanical stresses. This metal breaker improves the tape’s resistance to cut damage, further increasing its durability and reliability, particularly in harsh working environments.
